Hurricane (Jnr) vs GNG Gems

Hurricanes delivered a committed and determined performance against GNG Gems, with the match ending 24–16 to GNG Gems. While the result didn’t fall Hurricanes’ way, the effort, teamwork, and resilience shown throughout the game were real positives to take forward.

The first quarter was closely fought, with Hurricanes matching GNG Gems goal for goal and finishing just one behind at 7–6. GNG Gems gained momentum in the second quarter, taking it 5–2, but Hurricanes continued to work hard and stay focused.

The third quarter showcased Hurricanes at their best, as strong defensive pressure and improved movement through the court helped them win the quarter 5–4, demonstrating their determination and refusal to give up. In the final quarter, GNG Gems finished strongly, taking it 8–3, but Hurricanes continued to battle until the final whistle.

Throughout the match, Hurricanes’ commitment and work rate never dropped. The team supported one another, chased every ball, and showed a fantastic attitude, proving that their determination and effort could not be questioned.

Players of the Match were jointly awarded to Issy and Poppy for their standout performances. Issy was excellent in both GK and WA, making several key interceptions and well-timed tips on the ball while showing strong, consistent defensive play. Poppy worked tirelessly throughout the game, intercepting multiple passes, always offering herself as an option, and helping to drive the team forward whenever possible with her energy and determination.
