U14 Macklins vs Tigers Roar – Match Report

A 6–23 loss today, and while the girls didn’t come out with the determination we know they have, there was still plenty to take away from the performance.

The first half felt flat, with Tigers Roar taking advantage of slow starts and hesitation through court. But as the game went on, the team began to settle, connect more confidently, and show glimpses of the progress they’ve been making in training. When they did drive forward with purpose, the ball movement looked much stronger.

Defensively, there were moments of real growth — better timing, better communication, and more ownership of space as the match progressed.

Player of the Match: Grace

For the second week running, Grace absolutely owned her space in defence. Strong positioning, clean contests, and a calm presence at the back made her stand out again.

Lots to build on, and the improvement is definitely coming through.
