U16 Macklins vs Topaz

A fantastic performance from the U16s today, taking a confident 26–16 win over Topaz. From the first whistle the girls showed intent, discipline, and a brilliant team mindset.

Quarter by quarter, the momentum built:

Q1: 5–3 – A tight start with strong defensive pressure.

Q2: 11–6 – The team settled, found their rhythm, and opened up the game.

Q3: 21–9 – Dominant through court, with smart feeds and relentless defence.

Q4: 26–16 – Controlled, composed, and fully deserving of the win.

The defensive unit was outstanding throughout — organised, disciplined, and constantly disrupting Topaz’s attack. Mid‑court worked tirelessly to transition the ball with purpose, and the shooters rewarded the team’s hard work with confident finishing.

Player of the Match: Layla

Layla was exceptional. Her movement, decision‑making, and work rate set the tone for the whole team. She drove the attack with confidence and showed real leadership on court.

Special Mention: Natalia

Natalia’s growth in defence was clear to see. Strong timing, improved positioning, and real confidence in the contest — a brilliant step forward.

Special Mention: Poppy

Despite carrying an injury, Poppy gave absolutely everything. Her commitment was huge, and her partnership in GK/GD created a massive protective wall that denied Topaz again and again. A brave, selfless performance.
