16M vs Crystals

Today’s match for our Macklins U16s against a highly competitive Crystals side was a fantastic display of unwavering effort, collective energy, and sheer determination. While the final scoreline reads 41-13, those numbers do not truly reflect the incredible heart and work ethic our squad brought to the court today.

The 13 goals our team scored were brilliantly executed against a very formidable defense, highlighting the technical progress the squad is making. We are really starting to see dynamic combinations forming across all thirds of the court, and it is wonderful to watch this team begin to truly shine. Testing themselves against high-quality opposition is exactly what builds resilience, and the Macklins spirit was clear for everyone on the sidelines to see. There are a huge number of positives to take from today’s performance as this team continues forward on their learning journey.

Player of the Match: A massive congratulations to Chloe, who earned a very well-deserved Player of the Match! Stepping outside of her familiar Centre (C) position to take on Wing Defence (WD), Chloe was an absolute powerhouse for the team. She demonstrated phenomenal defensive skills, securing a number of key interceptions and maintaining an inspiring 100% work rate from the first whistle to the last. Her adaptability and relentless drive perfectly reflect the supportive and hardworking ethos of this squad.

A big thank you to Crystals for a great game played with excellent fair play and mutual respect. We wish them all the very best for the remainder of the season, and we couldn't be prouder of our U16s for the energy and spirit they showed today!
